About This Role
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department is responsible for delivering patient care through assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role is ideal for nurses who thrive in fast‑paced environments and are skilled in managing urgent and critical patient needs.
Highlights- Location: Northampton, MA
- Facility: Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Inc.
- Schedule: Part‑Time, Evening shift
- Pay: $42.19 - $72.88/Hourly
- Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Direct and coordinate all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards.
- Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery.
- Triage patients according to care requirements and provide ongoing assessment of their condition.
- Provide immediate interventions and discharge teaching for patients.
- Work standard weekly hours of 24 hours between 7am Saturday and 7:30am Monday.
- Receive an Every Weekend differential of $10 per hour for hours worked during designated periods.
- Work holidays that fall on weekends, exempt from normal holiday rotation.
- Typically not permitted to swap a weekend shift with a non‑weekend shift without manager approval.
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Experience:
- Critical Care RN and/or Emergency RN experience required
- Licenses &
Certifications:- Current Registered Nurse (RN) License in Massachusetts
- Basic Life Support certification required
- ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire or transfer into department
- De‑escalation certification required within 60 days of hire or transfer into department
- PALS or ENPC certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer into department
