Nurse Practitioner​/Physician Assistant, Cardiology

Our cardiology clinic is located at 22 Atwood Drive in Northampton, MA. We are seeking a full‑time, 40‑hour Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team. The schedule will consist of five 8‑hour shifts Monday‑Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The anticipated breakdown is 36 clinical/patient‑facing hours and 4 hours of administrative time. The NP/PA will primarily work in the office/clinic setting, with additional responsibilities in the stress lab at Cooley Dickinson Hospital two days per week.

The NP/PA will also be part of the weekend call rotation – approximately 1 in 9 weekends. Under the direction of a physician, the NP/PA will assess and manage follow‑up patients in the outpatient setting following established standards and practices. Services may include performing complete histories and physical exams, ordering simple diagnostic tests, preparing a diagnosis and implementing procedures for illnesses as well as urgent cases.

• Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
• Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develops appropriate plans of care and follow‑up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
• Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
• Consistently provides high‑quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
• Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.

• Master's Degree Nursing required.

• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN‑NP – State License] – Generic – HR Only required.

• 2 years of licensed nurse practitioner experience; 1–2 years required.
• 3+ years of experience working as an NP/PA in cardiology and/or heart failure required.
