Description:
40 hours total with a mix of 8- and 10-hour shifts. Call required, approximately three weeknights a month from 5 PM to 7 AM and one weekend day a month, either Saturday or Sunday from 7 AM to 7 AM. The Operating Room Registered Nurse performs the role of Circulating Nurse while functioning as a patient advocate for the anesthetized patient.
The OR RN is responsible for providing safe and effective care to the surgical patient while meeting their physiologic and functional needs. The OR RN interacts with a diverse patient population including pre-natal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Effective interaction must align with each individual's intellectual level and physical ability. Current certification in American Heart Association BLS is required.
ACLS certification is required. PALS certification is required. One to three years of Operating Room experience is required. BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
