Position Summary

This position leverages Dead River Company benefits to grow our residential propane business through trade partners. Targets include builders, remodelers, realtors, and associated affinity partners such as appliance stores and stove shops. The role closely collaborates with Marketing and Operations to achieve success and growth. As a trusted advisor to both existing and new customers, the position seeks to provide high‑quality service in support of our Brand Promise and Customer Guarantees.

Essential

Functions
  • Responsible for growing residential propane sales to trade and affinity partners.
  • Develop a territory sales plan to include annual goals, activities and trade targets to support corporate market growth strategy.
  • Develop business relationships with impactful builders, remodelers, realtors, appliance stores and stove shops to add value and earn repeat liquid product business.
  • Accurately and timely prepare and present proposals to existing and potential new customers.
  • Leverage industry information and incentives to grow business (PERC and others).
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop tool kits, collateral, co‑branding and co‑op opportunities.
  • Collaborate with operations to ensure required service standards are agreed upon and adhered to.
  • Responsible for customer relations and quality service before, during and after the sale.
  • Maintain harmonious relationships and good communication with other departments (service, credit, and delivery) to ensure consistent and excellent service.
  • Actively participate in trade shows, and conduct training and education seminars with customers.
  • Use  to manage targeted trade and affinity partners; manage tasks, events and stages of proposals as well as document sales results.

    Other Tasks

    Education

    A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

    Experience

    The Business Development Representative should have a minimum of two years of previous sales experience or a combination of sales and energy‑related experience. Solution selling experience is preferred.
