About Our ClientOur client provides specialist, trauma‑informed care for children aged 11‑17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). Their approach focuses on building trust, repairing attachments, and equipping young people with the tools to manage emotions and develop resilience. Homes are small, family‑style environments designed to deliver bespoke, needs‑led care that transforms lives.
What's Needed in This Role- Experience working in a children's residential setting.
- Ability to support and mentor junior staff, ensuring high standards of care.
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and commitment to child welfare.
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, solution‑focused approach.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – Essential.
- Understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015).
- Knowledge of Ofsted compliance requirements and safeguarding frameworks.
- Ability to contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies.
- Familiarity with therapeutic approaches such as PACE and Positive Behaviour Support.
- Provide consistent, nurturing care to children and young people with EBD.
- Support daily routines, education, and positive activities to promote development.
- Respond to challenging behaviours using de‑escalation techniques and therapeutic strategies.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and contribute to handovers.
- Work collaboratively with families, professionals and multi‑agency teams to ensure safeguarding and positive outcomes.
- Act as a role model for junior staff, promoting best practice and a child‑centred approach.
