Role OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Children's Worker to join our team in Northamptonshire on a temporary basis. As a Residential Children's Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to vulnerable children and young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. Your expertise and experience will be essential in creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that fosters growth, development, and independence.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualised care and support to children and young people, addressing their unique needs, preferences, and circumstances
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, colleagues, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of care plans, risk assessments, and therapeutic interventions, promoting holistic and person-centred approaches
- Support children and young people with daily living tasks, education, and recreational activities, encouraging participation, engagement, and skill-building
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation, ensuring compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Experience of working with children and young people in a residential or community setting, preferably in a similar role or capacity
- Knowledge of child development, attachment theory, and trauma-informed practice, with an understanding of their application in residential care
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in duties, as required
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with a commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion
- Competitive hourly rate of up to £16.00 per hour
