As an Installation & Servicing Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering and maintaining Piab’s lifting automation solutions at customer sites across the UK. You will install new lifting equipment, perform servicing and annual testing, and ensure our systems operate safely and reliably in a variety of factory environments. While previous experience in an engineering environment is desirable, we believe strongly in hiring for attitude and potential and training for skills.

You will work autonomously in the field but be fully supported by our internal and external engineering teams, management, and branch structure.

The role will include extensive travel within the UK, with an average of 3–6 nights away from home per month.

• Install Piab lifting and handling equipment at customer sites, working closely with other engineers to ensure safe, high‑quality installations.
• Perform routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance, including annual testing and certifications of installed equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and basic electrical issues on‑site, using your initiative and problem‑solving skills.
• Work safely and in compliance with relevant standards, customer site rules, and Piab’s health & safety procedures.
• Provide clear, professional communication to customers on the status of work, any issues identified, and recommended actions.
• Complete accurate service reports, test certificates, and any required documentation in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the wider engineering and branch teams to coordinate installations, share best practices, and continuously improve our service.
• Represent Piab professionally at all times, being polite, presentable, and focused on delivering an excellent customer experience.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to build your technical expertise and stay current with Piab products and solutions.
