About the RoleWe are looking for a Resident Mechanical (Multiskilled) Engineer to join our team at the prestigious Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains site in Brixworth
.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a high-performance, fast-paced engineering environment
, supporting the delivery of exceptional facilities management services. You'll play a key role in maintaining critical building services and ensuring plant reliability across a technically advanced site.
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across a wide range of mechanical plant and systems
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance tasks, breakdowns, and site emergencies
- Maintain and fault-find across systems including:
- HVAC plant (AHUs, chillers, boilers, FCUs, pumps)
- Split AC / heat pump units
- Water systems (CWS, HWS, L8 compliance)
- BMS systems and electrical control panels
- Compressed air systems and general M&E plant
- Undertake minor fabric works
, repairs, and general handyman tasks - Support small installation works and projects
- Liaise with and coordinate specialist subcontractors
- Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and compliance with QA and statutory requirements
- Deliver a high standard of customer service
, building strong relationships on-site - Contribute to lifecycle planning and provide predictive maintenance insights
You’ll work a flexible shift rota (subject to change), including:
- 06:00 – 15:00 (Water checks & monitoring)
- 08:00 – 17:00 (standard shifts across different days)
- 14:00 – 23:00 (PPM shift)
- Participation in call-out and standby rota
- Strong experience in mechanical building services / FM environments
- Proven ability in HVAC fault finding and maintenance
- Experience with PPM systems and reactive maintenance
- Competence in plumbing/mechanical engineering (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2/3)
- Electrical fault-finding capability
- Experience maintaining pressurisation units, valves, pipework, FCUs
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- F-Gas qualification
- 18th Edition (Electrical)
- C&G 6187 (Refrigeration & AC)
- Experience with cooling towers / evaporative systems (L8)
- MEWP / PASMA / FLT licences
- Experience using CAFM/PPM systems (e.g. Concept)
- A proactive, can-do attitude
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-profile client environment
- Commitment to safety, quality, and excellence in service delivery
- A collaborative approach and team player mindset
