Rotating / Site-based We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team in a busy manufacturing/production environment. This role is crucial for maintaining, repairing, and improving both production and facility equipment, ensuring compliance with current legislation, health & safety standards, and site maintenance systems. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting production operations.
Day-to-day of the role:
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and routine equipment checks. Diagnose faults and respond promptly to site breakdowns. Perform reactive and proactive maintenance to minimise downtime. Support production teams as required to meet operational demands. Complete weekly site inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records. Carry out equipment installations and modifications in line with current regulations. Ensure compliance with food hygiene and food safety standards at all times.
Liaise with contractors and chaperone visitors when required. Maintain high standards of housekeeping across work areas and workshops. Monitor spare parts stock levels and report requirements. Participate in continuous improvement activities. Ensure clear communication and effective handovers between shifts. Undertake any additional reasonable duties as required. Required Skills &
Qualifications:
Relevant engineering qualification (minimum NVQ Level 2 or 3 / Engineering NC). Electrical or mechanical bias (multi-skilled preferred). Electrical competency (e.g., 18th Edition desirable). Experience working in a manufacturing, food, or production environment. Confident using hand and power tools. Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable (but not essential): PLC and drive experience. Plumbing or HVAC knowledge. Ducting, pipework, or ventilation experience. Metalwork and TIG welding (stainless steel) experience. Benefits:
