Available at 1.5× Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent The Opportunity Interaction Technical are working in partnership with a well-established and growing Material Handling and Access Solutions business to recruit an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter. With customers and sites across the UK, the company is continuing to expand and is looking for a skilled engineer to join its growing field service team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically and electrically capable engineer looking for a long-term career, excellent earning potential and the opportunity to develop their technical skills. The Package £40,000–£45,000 basic salary OTE of £50,000 Door-to-door travel paid Overtime available and paid at 1.5× Company van and fuel card Reasonable private use of company vehicle 24 days annual leave public holidays (32 days total) Company pension scheme Full training and ongoing development Further training across electrical, mechanical, diagnostic and fault-finding systems All travel time and expenses paid when travelling from home to customer sites Excellent opportunities for progression and career development
The Role As a Mobile Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a range of plant and material handling equipment at customer sites. Your responsibilities will include:
Diagnosing faults and carrying out servicing, maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs Working on plant, lifting and material handling equipment Carrying out mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairs Working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems Working on engines, batteries and associated plant systems Travelling to customer sites to carry out repairs and preventative maintenance Providing professional technical support and solutions to customers Working independently while also collaborating with colleagues and the wider engineering team Completing accurate service reports and documentation Ensuring equipment is repaired safely, efficiently and to a high standard About You The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within the plant, construction, agricultural, material handling or similar engineering sectors.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience working on mobile plant machinery (excavators, dumpers, rollers, telehandlers etc.) – essential Strong hydraulic knowledge and experience Good mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities Experience working with engines and batteries Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing mobile equipment The ability to diagnose faults and work independently A customer-focused and professional approach A full UK driving licence NVQ, City & Guilds or another relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering would be advantageous.
