❄️ We are recruiting for an experienced HVAC Engineer / Air Conditioning Engineer to support the planned, reactive and preventative maintenance of HVAC systems and associated building services across a large commercial and industrial site in Northamptonshire.

🛠️ This is an urgent temp-to-perm opportunity offering an immediate start for a technically competent engineer with strong maintenance, fault-finding and diagnostic skills. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and associated mechanical systems.

🏢 The position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer seeking a long-term role within a facilities management environment, with an initial temporary assignment paying £25.00 per hour before transitioning into a permanent position paying £40,000 per annum.

🔧 The ideal candidate will have proven experience in HVAC or air conditioning maintenance, hold the relevant F-Gas Category I certification and possess City & Guilds Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications or equivalent NVQs.

🛠️ Responsibilities & Duties

• ❄️ Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on HVAC systems, air conditioning equipment and associated mechanical building services.

• 🔧 Undertake reactive maintenance activities and respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, faults and service requests.

• 🧰 Diagnose faults across HVAC and air conditioning systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs.

• 🌡️ Inspect, maintain and repair heating, ventilation, cooling and air conditioning equipment to ensure optimum performance.

• 🔍 Complete routine inspections of mechanical plant, equipment and building services to identify defects, deterioration and potential system failures.

• ⚙️ Carry out maintenance, servicing and repairs in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, site procedures and industry best practice.

• 🚨 Respond efficiently to reactive maintenance requests, minimising equipment downtime and disruption to site operations.

• 🛠️ Identify recurring faults and recommend appropriate remedial actions to improve equipment reliability and system performance.

• 📋 Complete all planned and reactive maintenance tasks within the required timescales and to the expected quality standards.

• 📝 Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, test results and completed work orders.

• 💻 Update relevant maintenance management systems and CAFM systems where required.

• 🦺 Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with Health & Safety legislation, risk assessments and safe systems of work.

• 🛡️ Follow permit-to-work procedures, method statements and site-specific safety requirements.

• 🌍 Ensure compliance with F-Gas regulations, refrigerant handling requirements and relevant environmental legislation.

• ❄️ Carry out refrigerant-related work in accordance with appropriate qualifications, certification and regulatory requirements.

• 🔎 Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, reliability and performance of HVAC and air conditioning systems.

• ⚡ Support the effective operation of building services, ensuring systems remain safe, functional and fit for purpose.

• 🤝 Work collaboratively with the wider Facilities Management team, fellow engineers and other maintenance personnel.
