Under the direction of the Sewer & Water Supervisor during summer construction, performs routine repairs, maintenance and installations to municipal water distribution, wastewater collection and storm sewer systems. Must participate in Duty System and be available for emergency work.
Under the direction of the Roads Supervisor during winter control, operates utility tractor with various attachments to perform seasonal duties such as sweeping roads and sidewalks, plowing and sanding sidewalks, pushing snow for removal. Completes minor tractor and equipment maintenance. Performs various labourer duties. Considered part of the Winter Control Program Letter of Understanding.
Qualifications- Minimum Grade 12 Education or equivalent.
- Must possess and post a Water Distribution Operator-in-Training Certificate and a Wastewater Collection Operator-in-Training Certificate.
- Must have good work habits and be able to carry out routine operations with minimum supervision.
- Must hold a valid Ontario Class “D” Driver’s License with a “Z” endorsement.
- Have good knowledge of Safety Regulations and Procedures.
- Must be able to take instructions and carry them out without supervision.
- Six (6) months experience in the operation of a utility tractor.
- Demonstrated ability in the operation of a Skidsteer and Trackless.
