The Assabet Valley Master singers (A VM), a respected community chorus with a 49-year tradition of choral-orchestral performance in suburban Massachusetts, seeks an Artistic Director to lead the organization into its next chapter.
The RoleThe AD provides full artistic leadership of AVM’s chorus, soloists, and orchestra — selecting repertoire, leading rehearsals and concerts, shaping the season, and serving as the public artistic voice of the organization. The AD works in close collaboration with the General Manager and reports to the Executive Board.
We are Looking ForProven choral conductor with experience in large-scale choral-orchestral repertoire
Strong rehearsal technique and the ability to inspire a committed volunteer ensemble
An artistic vision that honors A VM’s legacy while embracing new possibilities
Collaborative instincts and comfort working within a nonprofit governance structure
Reliable accessibility to the Metro West/Greater Boston area
Able to take over in the Summer of 2027
Advanced degree in choral conducting or music education preferred.
CompensationCommensurate with experience and achievement.
