Girls' Soccer Coach

Department: Athletics – Melican Middle School

Reports to: Assistant Principal and Athletic Coordinator

FLSA Status: Exempt

Starting Date: Aug 27, 2026

The girls’ soccer coaching position will be a commitment from September 1 to November
7. Duties include scheduling practices, developing daily practice plans, emailing parents and families, distributing and collecting medical forms, managing equipment, distributing uniforms, supervising games, and transporting students to games.

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Coaching experience required
• Ability to organize game and practice plans
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Additional relevant certifications or training

• Supervise students before, during, and after games
• Provide practice plans, structured drills, and meaningful feedback
• Communicate weekly with parents/guardians
• Prepare fields for play
• Communicate with Athletic Director/Principal
• Report injuries to the Athletic Director and nurse
• Maintain punctuality and professionalism

Work is generally performed after the school day, with occasional meetings during the day. The coach frequently walks, stands, sits, talks, and hears. They regularly bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Sufficient mobility to navigate the school building is required.
