Matec Instrument Companies, Inc. seeks a Field Service Engineer/Technician to install, calibrate, and maintain advanced ultrasonic and acoustic measurement systems used for non-destructive testing and materials characterization. In this field-based role, you'll troubleshoot complex instrumentation, perform preventive maintenance, and support system upgrades for industrial, academic, and government customers. You'll collaborate with Matec's engineers and scientists, provide on-site training, and contribute to innovative, high precision solutions deployed worldwide.

Travel to customer sites is required.

Responsibilities

  • Install, calibrate, and service ultrasonic and acoustic measurement systems at customer sites
  • Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on complex instrumentation and transducers
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and system upgrades to ensure optimal performance
  • Train customers on proper system operation, safety, and basic troubleshooting
  • Document service activities, test results, and configuration changes accurately
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and R&D teams to resolve technical issues and improve designs
  • Support system commissioning, acceptance testing, and field validation
  • Provide remote technical support and guidance to customers as needed
  • Maintain tools, test equipment, and service documentation in ready condition
  • Travel to industrial, academic, and government customer locations as required
