Program & Outreach Coordinator, Whitinsville Social Library (Northbridge)
The Town of Northbridge seeks candidates to fill a part-time Program and Outreach Coordinator position at Whitinsville Social Library. Candidates must have a flexible schedule, including some evenings and Saturdays. Hours will not exceed 12 hours per week. This is an in-person, non-benefited position.
Primary Responsibilities- Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate programs for children, teens, and adults in conjunction with the Library Director and Youth Services Librarian.
- Serve as the contact person for performers and other event leaders. Handle contracts, invoices, performer’s needs, promotion, room setup, supply procurement, and day of event logistics. Introduce and oversee programs in progress as needed.
- Produce marketing materials and distribute flyers, press releases, email newsletters, and posts on social media in order to promote all events and library services.
- Work within the Library’s annual programming budget; researches and writes grants to support library programming.
- Coordinate and maintain partnerships with local community organizations; attend local outreach events to spread the message of the library to new audiences.
- Adhere to Library policies and patron privacy standards.
- Able to perform duties at the circulation desk including charging and discharging books. Assist patrons; answer the phone; provide ready reference and reader advisory services; issue library cards.
Minimum Qualifications
- Basic computer knowledge including use of Microsoft Office.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
- Great social, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Transportation to outreach events.
- Passing a CORI check.
- Saturdays and evening availability.
- High school graduate.
- Two years related experience and/or training.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Previous work or volunteer experience in a public, academic, special, or school library and/or current MLIS student.
- Experience with Evergreen ILS and/or the CWMARS online public access catalog.
- Experience with downloadable and streaming media, apps, and e-reader devices.

Salary NotesOpportunity for pay increases due to performance and COLA.
