Job Summary:

The role of the Technology Support Specialist is to focus on resolving user technical issues across the district, for teachers, staff members, administrators, and students. This includes, but is not limited to, PC repair, password resets, connectivity to network, printing, peripherals, mouse and keyboard, LCD projectors, presentation set-ups, etc., and managing and prioritizing the district’s IT Help Desk (trouble ticket) system.

This position is mobile and will require covering technical needs in all four school buildings and central office.

Responsibilities
  • 1. Provide IT Help Desk (technology) support to all four school and administration buildings, teachers, staff, students, and administrators throughout the district
  • 2. Prioritize and manage IT Help Desk trouble tickets to resolution
  • 3. Consistently troubleshoot technology issues, including, but not limited to; PC repair, password resets, connectivity to network, printing, peripherals, mouse and keyboard, LCD projectors, presentation set-ups, etc.
  • 4. Perform hardware, software, and firmware updates and upgrades as required
  • 5. In collaboration with the Director of Technology, coordinate and perform the installation of hardware and software in district classrooms, offices, and educational spaces
  • 6. Effectively manage a schedule to be mobile, actively resolving Help Desk issues throughout the district.

Job Requirements
  • Qualifications:

    1.Bachelor’s Degree preferred in computer science related field, or commensurate technology support experience, A+ certification a plus, and/or a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a technical support role, preferably in an educational environment
    2.Working knowledge of a wide array of hardware and network management tools and protocols, including general computer management, Active Directory, security, connectivity, and troubleshooting
    3.Must have experience utilizing a trouble ticket system to manage IT issues
    4.Must possess outstanding communication skills and the ability to work with all district staff members
    5.Strong organizational skills and time management.
    6.Must be self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently
