Base pay range$75,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr

The Senior Accountant will provide support to the Controller and executive management, as well as to other senior managers on a broad range of accounting, financial, and tactical issues which impact Acme. The Senior Accountant will provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data, reconciling discrepancies and preparing reports. The Senior Accountant must have thorough knowledge of financial and cost accounting, a solid understanding of enterprise/accounting systems and have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel.
GeneralAccounting
- Coordinate the accounts receivable process including billing, cash application and B2B collections
- Prepare monthly reconciliations and closing entries
- Perform variance analyses
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly GAAP financials and prepare management reports
- Prepare monthly Illinois sales and use tax filings and Federal 1099’s
- Assist the Controller in overseeing accounting procedures and internal controls
- Provide support to the accounts payable function on a fill-in basis during vacations
- Provide ad-hoc reports and analyses for management
- Over-sight responsibility for inventory accuracy, including the coordination of periodic physical inventories
- Maintain product routers, standard costs and pricing
- Maintain the fixed asset system – Bassets eDepreciation
- Learn and become a training resource for Acme’s foundry specific ERP – Odyssey ERP
- Provide ad-hoc reports and analyses for management
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Microsoft Excel skills, required
- Strong understanding of accounting/information systems, required
- Three to five years of progressive experience in Accounting, required
- Direct or audit experience in the manufacturing industry, required
- Ability to work with all levels in the organization, from customer service representatives and shipping clerks to senior management, required
- CMA/CPA, strongly preferred
- Experience with foundry and/or fixed asset software, Odyssey and/or Bassets, preferred
- Experience with Crystal Reports or comparable report writing software, preferred
