Tax Senior or Supervisor
North suburbs | Hybrid
The step from Senior to Manager is a big one. This firm gives you room to grow into it.
Having a Supervisor level means you can build your confidence reviewing work, supporting colleagues and managing client relationships, with partners there to guide you. You get the experience and support to make your next step a successful one.
The role gives you a mix of preparation, review and client contact across privately held businesses, their owners, individuals and trusts, alongside nonprofits and private foundations. You’ll use your not for profit knowledge while continuing to build your broader tax experience, with opportunities to research more complex questions and support junior colleagues.
Your not for profit experience matters here. They need someone who understands this work and wants to build on it, while continuing to work with a varied client portfolio.
It’s an independent, mid sized CPA firm with one office. The partners are involved in the work and know the clients. You’ll work closely with them, have someone to talk through complicated questions with and build client relationships of your own.
As your experience grows, so will your responsibility. There’s scope to take on more review work, mentor junior colleagues and become more involved in planning conversations. The firm has clear career paths and a strong track record of helping people progress, so you’ll know what you’re working towards.
Busy season typically averages around 55 hours. The fall push is lighter, summers are calmer, and there’s hybrid working, flexible hours and summer Fridays.
You’ll need public accounting tax experience, including work with nonprofits and private foundations, alongside a broader mix of individual, trust and business returns. A CPA or EA, or progress towards either, is welcomed. Review experience would be particularly useful at Supervisor level.
If you’re ready to build on what you know, with the support to take that next step, I’d be happy to tell you more.
