Data Analyst, Data Scientist
As a Senior Regulatory Scientist on the Biocide Regulatory Team at Stepan Company, you will manage risk associated with Stepan’s biocide portfolio, including audits of formulator partners and regulatory agency audits. You’ll coordinate audits, review corrective actions, manage label compliance, and support the biocide network’s license approval process.
Key Responsibilities- Prioritize formulator companies for audit and engage with primary business contacts to prepare for participation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits and manage interfaces with third‑party audit companies.
- Collect and review audit materials and provide an ‘Audit Action’ report, itemizing required corrections and next steps with a timeline.
- Create and edit contractual texts related to audits and corrective actions.
- Review in‑commerce product labels against master labels and facilitate label reviews with the team, issuing a Final Audit report.
- Review indemnification agreements and facilitate update actions as necessary.
- Maintain an audit tracking tool that includes Stepan and regulatory agency audits, applying learnings to minimize risk across the network.
- Facilitate activation of applicable licensing agreements.
- Participate in sub‑registrant label review, reviewing sub‑registrant labels against EPA Master and ensuring final approved labels.
- Respond to customer, sales, and business inquiries in support of biocide regulatory activities.
The Senior Regulatory Scientist ensures Stepan adheres to laws, regulations, and internal policies by developing and implementing compliance programs, conducting audits, managing risk, and training personnel.
Qualifications- 3–5 years of regulatory experience with a chemical company.
- FIFRA registration experience; antimicrobial experience is beneficial.
- Ability to interact effectively with business leaders, government agencies, and trade associations.
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Strong project management, negotiation, and business acumen.
- Ability to communicate complex regulatory issues to diverse audiences.
- Experience with FIFRA label review.
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or a related science field.
Pay Range$75,000 – $98,000 (annual salary).
