Stepan is seeking a Business Manager for its Specialties business in Polymers to join our North American Polymers team in HQ – Northbrook, IL. In this role, you will report to the Vice President, Polymers, Americas. The Specialties Business Manager is responsible for the profit and losses of the Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, Elastomers (CASE) polyols, flexible foam polyols and powder resins business and leads the Business Team in the execution of the strategy for growth of regional customers in North America.
The business manager also manages a team of 2 account executives. We are looking for a dynamic and growth focus commercial leader who grows the business leveraging Stepan capabilities and strengths to create value in this customers segment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Profit and Loss of the Specialties Polymers business in North America.
- Manage and direct company resources in alignment with the growth strategy and ensuring ROI.
- Develop and execute the strategy for growth in alignment with the Corporate and ESG strategy.
- Lead the CASE, Flexible Foam and Powder Resin Business Strategy Execution Team.
- Responsible for the budget, profit projection, monthly reports, business case ownership and accountability.
- Manage 2 account executives to optimize presence at the customer interface and trade shows and balance account maintenance with acquisition of new business.
- Minimum 8+ years experience in Polyurethanes and/or Chemical Industry related field
- Strong business acumen
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and lead multi-disciplinary teams
- Analytical, problem-solving skills, metrics-driven and process-oriented.
- Quality decision making
- Interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Bachelors degree in related field required, Masters degree preferred

Pay Range: $132,000 - $165,000
The salary range for this position is determined by considering a variety of factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, and the location of the position.
