What You’ll Be Doing 👶 Classroom Care & Learning

• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment
• Engage with children through meaningful play, early learning experiences, and hands‑on discovery
• Support each child’s social–emotional development with positive guidance
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities (Lead Teachers)

🧡 Family & Community Connections

• Build warm, trusting relationships with families
• Communicate daily with professionalism, empathy, and clarity
• Partner with families to support children's development

👩🏫 Teamwork & Collaboration

• Work closely with co‑teachers and directors to uphold school wide expectations
• Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and routines
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities

📚 Curriculum & Assessment (Lead Teachers)

• Create lesson plans aligned with Goddard developmental guidelines
• Maintain individual child portfolios and progress reports
• Support classroom transitions and routines with consistency and kindness

📝 Qualifications Assistant Teachers - Educational Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children preferred
• Ability to support a play‑based curriculum and engage actively with children

Lead Teachers - Educational Qualifications

• A CDA or
• Some college credits in any field with a commitment to enroll in and complete 6 hours of online or in‑person courses in Early Childhood Education within a year of employment at Goddard (We can pay for this!)
• A Bachelor's degree in an early childhood field.

All Roles Require

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and meet DCFS licensing requirements
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Passion for early childhood education and a love of learning through play
