What You’ll Be Doing 👶 Classroom Care & Learning- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment
- Engage with children through meaningful play, early learning experiences, and hands‑on discovery
- Support each child’s social–emotional development with positive guidance
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities (Lead Teachers)
- Build warm, trusting relationships with families
- Communicate daily with professionalism, empathy, and clarity
- Partner with families to support children's development
- Work closely with co‑teachers and directors to uphold school wide expectations
- Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and routines
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
- Create lesson plans aligned with Goddard developmental guidelines
- Maintain individual child portfolios and progress reports
- Support classroom transitions and routines with consistency and kindness
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children preferred
- Ability to support a play‑based curriculum and engage actively with children
- A CDA or
- Some college credits in any field with a commitment to enroll in and complete 6 hours of online or in‑person courses in Early Childhood Education within a year of employment at Goddard (We can pay for this!)
- A Bachelor's degree in an early childhood field.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and meet DCFS licensing requirements
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for early childhood education and a love of learning through play
