Office Manager
As the Office Manager at The Cove School, you will play a crucial role in supporting the day to day operations of the school and the Human Resources Team. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring the smooth operation of the school, enabling our dedicated staff to deliver an exceptional educational experience. Schedule:
Full-time (12 Month) In person role Monday through Friday 8:00 am 4:00 pm
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) is required. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in office management, human resources, client services, or payroll is preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Accurately record hourly paid work time and assist with preparing and transiting the semi-monthly payroll. Manage the front office staff and oversee all front desk services. Serve as backup for front desk duties. Track and report staff attendance on a daily basis. Manage employee updates/changes and overall information integrity for the payroll/HR system including compensation and benefits changes. Oversee the onboarding process for new employees, including forms, documentation, and communication in the payroll/HR system.
Coordinate with vendors for benefit administration, invoice verification, and open enrollment. Prepare student tuition and staff employment contracts, and ensure accuracy of information. Prepare student activity invoices and follow up on outstanding receivables. Maintain personnel files in compliance with legislative guidelines. Provide additional project support as needed.

Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. A positive and proactive attitude that fosters a collaborative team environment. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in writing. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other technology platforms. Demonstrate ability to handle sensitive information with utmost confidentiality. Customer service oriented and a commitment to providing exceptional support.
Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities. Previous work experience in a school office setting.
About Us:
The Cove School is a non-public therapeutic day school for students with learning disabilities located in Northbrook, IL. Cove students come from 60 nearby different public schools and families can also choose to fund tuition privately. Classes are kept small. Teaching is flexible and varies according to the individual student's learning style. A team of onsite specialists work collaboratively to provide students intensive, integrated related services.
