School-Based Registered Nurse; RN; Northbrook, Illinois

An exciting contract opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse to provide essential school nursing services in a supportive educational environment near Northbrook, IL. This role offers the chance to make a positive impact on student health and well-being while collaborating with dedicated faculty and staff.

• Current RN license, valid in IL
• Active CPR and BLS certifications
• Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric settings preferred
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in urgent situations

• Deliver daily health care support to middle school students (grades 68) within the nurses office at a dynamic middle school
• Support the neighboring elementary school with nursing services as required
• Manage health records, coordinate medications and care, and perform routine health screenings
• Provide first aid, illness assessment, and emergency response as needed
• Partner with teachers, counselors, and parents to promote student wellness and education on health topics
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all relevant school policies and regulations

• Contract position running from January 6, 2027 through June 4, 2027
• Standard school schedule:
  Monday through Friday, 8:30am3:40pm (32.5 hours/week, includes a 40-minute unpaid lunch)
• Onsite presence required; remote (voco) options are not available
• Caseload covers approximately 1,000 students across two schools, with a primary location at the middle school and occasional support at the elementary level
