Hiring throughout the North Shore and Northwest Suburbs!
Compensation – $21.00 per hour for new locators to $33.00 per hour for experienced locators.
Your responsibilities as a Locator include:
- Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems.
- Thoroughly search for underground utilities in a designated area, accurately mark the locations, complete necessary documentation, and photograph each locate.
These are daytime, full‑time positions. We normally deliver a 48‑hour turnaround on many locates, which means we work the day after holidays and some weekends as needed. You must be able to work overtime, weekend shifts, and on‑call shifts (including nights and weekends) depending on business needs.

- Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions; prior outdoor experience is a plus.
- Computer proficiency.
- Availability for overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as needed.
- Able to pass a drug screen (safety‑sensitive position).
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Able to work in confined spaces; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs.
- Able to distinguish color‑coded wiring and other markers used to identify utilities.
- Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints.
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
