Director of Sales, Sales Manager
THE ROLE
Veterans Roofing is looking for an Assistant Sales Manager who can help turn a talented sales team into a consistently high-performing one. This isn't a clipboard-management position. You'll work directly alongside our sales leadership and Project Estimators to improve performance, reinforce our sales process, coach appointments, maintain accountability, and make sure opportunities don't stall because someone failed to execute. We're looking for someone who understands that leadership isn't about having a title — it's about creating clarity, developing people, solving problems, and owning results.
WHAT YOU'LL DOSupport the VP of Sales in the day-to-day leadership of the sales department
Coach, train, and develop Project Estimators
Review individual and team KPIs, including appointments, sit rates, close rates, average ticket, financing usage, follow-up activity, and collected revenue
Conduct regular one-on-one coaching and performance reviews
Review sales appointments and identify coaching opportunities
Help enforce Veterans Roofing's sales process and customer-experience standards
Monitor estimator calendars, lead distribution, capacity, and appointment coverage
Identify stalled opportunities and ensure proper follow-up occurs
Assist with sales meetings, role-play sessions, product training, and objection-handling exercises
Help onboard and develop new Project Estimators
Work closely with the Lead Pipeline & Conversion Manager to identify lead-quality and conversion issues
Identify whether performance problems originate from lead quality, appointment quality, sales execution, or follow-up
Help maintain accurate CRM data and sales pipeline visibility
Step into leadership decisions when the VP of Sales is unavailable
Bring solutions to leadership — not just problems
Proven sales experience; in-home sales, home improvement, roofing, construction, or other high-ticket sales strongly preferred
Previous leadership, coaching, or sales-management experience preferred
Strong understanding of KPIs and performance management
Ability to coach without avoiding accountability
Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
Comfortable analyzing sales data and identifying trends
Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities
Comfortable learning and operating CRM and sales technology
Competitive mindset without creating a cutthroat environment
Extreme ownership of results
Ability to develop people instead of simply directing them
Veterans and military spouses strongly encouraged to apply
Competitive base salary plus performance-based incentives. Final compensation will be based on leadership experience, sales background, and demonstrated ability to develop a high-performing team.
BENEFITSPerformance-based compensation
Weekly pay
Health benefits
Paid time off and holidays
Leadership development
Ongoing sales and product training
Clear advancement opportunities
High-growth environment
Veteran-owned culture built around accountability, communication, and continuous improvement
