Job Description:
The Department of Global Humanities at Norwich University invites applications for an adjunct position in American Sign Language (ASL) starting in the fall semester of 2026. This is an in-person position on the Norwich University campus, in Northfield, Vermont.
Candidates should demonstrate teaching excellence, with a commitment to student-centered teaching practices. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching one or more sections of beginning ASL with the possibility of additional courses at the intermediate and/or advanced levels. Adjunct faculty are expected to follow the provided curriculum, provide timely feedback on student work, and monitor student progress. Adjunct faculty members work on a part-time, course-by-course basis, with assignments dependent on pending student enrollment.
The position's renewal will be contingent on successful review and performance.
Salary is based on number of credits assigned.
Requirements:
* Minimum of a master's degree in ASL or a related field; or commensurate professional experience in the field.
* Native or near-native fluency in ASL.
* Prior college-level teaching experience.
* Proficiency in current methodologies in ASL and culture-based instruction, including integration of technology in the classroom.
