Position Summary

Enjoy a great work life balance at our dialysis clinic located in Forest Park. Our Forest Park location is open 6 days a week offering early morning shifts beginning at 4:45 AM to cater to our patients’ schedules. Patient sessions run from 5:30 AM to 6:30 PM. As a dialysis technician, you’ll work 3 days a week, with every other Saturday included. Our facility features 24 dialysis stations and a team consisting of 6 Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technicians and 2 Registered Nurses.

Primary

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Arranges and maintains equipment and supplies for performance of dialysis and other procedures, including preparation of Dialysate solutions.

  • Performs cannulation, initiates, monitors and discontinues dialysis treatment.

  • Observes and monitors patient vital signs and significant dialysis treatment parameters; assesses patient signs and symptoms and provides treatment accordingly.

  • Communicates pertinent patient information or changes in patient condition to the team leader; documents these results per unit's policies.

  • Transports, weighs and assists patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers and chairs.

  • Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines and responds to patient concerns in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.

Certifications /Professional Licenses:

  • Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
  • Basic Life Support - American Red Cross
  • Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) - Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC)
  • Certified Hemodialysis Practitioner/Technician (CHT) - Board of Nephrology Examiners Nursing Technology (BONENT)

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
