Position: Seasonal Teen Trip Leader (Roving Recreation)

Salary

$18.95 - $21.79 per hour

Overview

Under the guidance of a Recreation Coordinator, the Seasonal Teen Trip Leader (age 18+) assists in planning and implementing summer trip activities for youth and teens, ages 12-17. This is a 35-40 hour seasonal position working approximately 8:00 am-4:00 pm Monday‑Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement summer Youth & Teen trips and group activities under supervision of a Recreation Coordinator.
  • Drive a 15‑passenger van and Ford Expedition daily.
  • Complete light custodial work and equipment set‑up and break‑down in accordance with assignments.
  • Maintain supply inventory and procure supplies for planned activities; submit receipts for materials to supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Represent the City of Northglenn positively, utilizing excellent customer service when interacting with patrons, organizations, and fellow employees.
  • Participate in and attend trainings.
  • Value diversity; demonstrate awareness and sensitivity and adapt behaviors and communications to accommodate differences.
  • Respond proactively with written, verbal, and in‑person communication, including phone calls and emails.
  • Maintain attendance records.
  • Follow appropriate opening and closing procedures; document accidents and incidents in the program.
  • Encourage patron adherence to operating policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws when necessary.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and be 18 or older.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in recreation or working with youth.
  • Skill in customer service, communication, and cash handling.
  • Knowledge of arts and crafts, sports, or other recreational activities.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado motor vehicle operator’s license and good driving record.
  • Must provide a current Motor Vehicle Record.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required; training will be provided.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Background and drug screen required for selected candidate.
