The City of Northglenn is seeking a highly motivated and outgoing Maintenance Technician I/II/III.
Position Highlights- Compensation
- Tech I - HIRING RANGE: $25.22 - $29.00
- Tech II - HIRING RANGE: $26.58 - $31.90
- Tech III - HIRING RANGE: $29.24 - $35.09
- Tech I:
An employee supports and performs skilled work in maintenance; repair and testing of City Buildings, facilities, and equipment under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor. - Tech II:
An employee leads a wide variety of skilled work associated with plumbing, electrical, potable water system, mechanical, utility systems, heating and air conditioning, lift stations, welding, building maintenance. Performs a wide variety of tasks as needed to assist and/or instruct other crew members. Work involves utilization of specialized knowledge and skills in the accomplishment of assignments. - Tech III:
Employees are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment, machinery, hand and power tools. Works independently and/or acts as a supervisor and directs the work of subordinates. Work performed under the general direction of a supervisor in accord with standard procedures. Work reviewed through evaluation of adherence to prescribed standards and through inspection.

- Tech I Responsibilities:
- Work involves the use of a variety of skills and various hand and power tools.
- Performs semi-skilled welding tasks as required such as tool repair or minor fabrication.
- Maintains and repairs pumps, electrical motors, electrical systems, gear boxes, mixers, blowers, vacuum pumps, SCADA systems, chlorinators, feeders, HVAC, pool system maintenance and water meters under supervision.
- Tech II Responsibilities:
- Plans, coordinates and oversees the daily activities of skilled and semi-skilled workers involved in the maintenance and operation of City-owned or leased facilities.
- Plans and performs, as needed, major and minor work generally associated with facilities and utilities maintenance such as plumbing, HVAC, electrical, welding, painting, lock-smithing, etc.
- Oversees and participates in, as needed, the construction of minor additions and improvements to existing structures by City crews.
- Tech III Responsibilities:
- Reviews daily tasks with supervisor; estimates the time, materials and equipment necessary for the successful completion of the project.
- Plans and performs, as needed, major and minor work generally associated with building construction and maintenance such as plumbing, HVAC, electrical, welding, painting, lock-smithing, utility lift stations, potable water systems, wastewater systems, and facilities.
- May participate in the preparation and review of plans and specifications for construction projects; recommends various improvements to City facilities and participates in development of plans for implementation.
- Tech I: High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by one year of experience in utility system electro/mechanic work, light industrial work; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Tech II: High school diploma supplemented by technical or vocational training in utility system electro/mechanic work, light industrial work, the skilled trades and at least two years in one or more skilled trades supplemented by two years of experience in the utilities and facilities; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Tech III: High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by five years of experience at the journeyman level in the skilled trades of utility system electro/mechanic work, light industrial work providing familiarity with pumps and electric motors and controls, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license and a good driving record.
- CDL license, CFC Certificate, UST and AST Operator, and CPO certification is desirable.
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- This position requires passing a pre-employment background, physical and drug screen.
