The City of Northglenn seeks an energetic, compassionate, and self‑motivated individual to join the Crisis Response Unit (CRU) as a Co‑Responder. This is a part‑time position (20 hours per week) funded through a temporary grant through the end of 2026, using a portion of the City’s American Rescue Plan Act allocation. The Co‑Responder will support the North Glenn Police Department, Neighborhood Services, and Municipal Court by working with residents to connect them with community resources and providing follow‑up case management services.
Work schedule: Weekends – two 10‑hour shifts.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesCRU members work out of the North Glenn PD under the City Management Department. They collaborate directly with police officers and the neighborhood services department to meet clients at various entry points into hardship situations. The Co‑Responder must be highly engaged with community partners and organizations, be prepared to respond on‑scene with clients to conduct mental‑health assessments, and refer clients to appropriate supportive resources.
They will offer case management to ensure continuity of care and meaningful connections for clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field. A Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- At least five (5) years of experience in the social services field, including case management.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in crisis interview, verbal de‑escalation, and working with individuals who experience severe and persistent mental illness or other at‑risk populations.
- Strong experience working with diverse populations.
- Understanding and knowledge of local community services and resources preferred.
- Prior experience with Word and Excel software packages desirable; ability to learn new applications.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Must possess, at the time of appointment, and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license and good driving record.
- Selected candidate must pass a background check, polygraph, psychological evaluation, drug screen, and physical examination.
$29.24 – $31.25 DOQ
Full Range: $29.24 – $40.93
