Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Systems Engineer

Summary of role:The Engineering Technician works directly on service assignments on a full range of industrial packaging/liquid filling equipment and provides support to the shop floor and the field service group.
Key duties and responsibilities:- Interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to implement, repair, assemble, disassemble, and validate controls on filling equipment.
- Program, install, calibrate, test, diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on electrical controls systems and components for industrial equipment, including servos, RTDs, and pneumatic devices.
- Build and wire electrical panels to prints.
- Troubleshoot, problem-solve, modify, and implement controls systems for field-deployed filling equipment, conducting unit replacement, electrical wiring, PLC programming, and managing upgrades.
- Correct and redline electrical schematics.
- Interact with Engineering/Equipment department, Business Development, clients, and management to plan deployments, resolve issues, and communicate status.
- Advise Engineering on customer satisfaction, product performance, and improvements.
- Maintain accurate reports of system failures, service history, and equipment conditions.
- Follow organization’s SOPs.
- Supervise support staff and contractors as needed.
- Manage vendor relationships.
- Assist with troubleshooting, refurbishments, and training during high demand.
Education:
- 2-year technical or Bachelor degree from an accredited institution.
- At least one year of troubleshooting experience with servo programming, electrical, mechanical systems, and pneumatic machinery.
- Preferred but not required:
Allen-Bradley PLC programming experience. - AutoCAD experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to travel 10% or more across North America.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays; work around customer schedules.
- Ability to travel internationally on rare occasions.
