The Manufacturing Engineer is focused on the design, development & implementation of advanced manufacturing processes & equipment, & reports to the Director of Manufacturing. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about optimizing operations, driving continuous improvement & mentoring technical teams. You'll be empowered with the tools, support & autonomy to make a real, visible impact every day, as a vital member of a Manufacturing team that values innovation, collaboration & operational excellence.
Job responsibilities include:- Design, develop & implement innovative manufacturing processes & equipment
- Develop & maintain process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, control plans & work instructions
- Conduct time studies & line balancing, & optimize material flow & plant layout through equipment & production line design
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians & production staff to optimize manufacturing operations & ensure quality & efficiency
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean & TPS (Toyota Production System) tools, applying lean principles, quality systems, statistical tools & procedures
- Teach & coach team members on Value Stream Mapping, time studies, Kaizen events, Standard Work, audits/Gemba Walks, PFD, FMEA, Control Plan, Job Element Sheets, root cause analysis (5-Why, Cause & Effect Diagrams, A3 tools), New Product Introduction (NPI) validation, test validation plans, Gauge Studies & statistical analysis
- Provide technical support for operational improvement initiatives (SQDPC: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Cost)
- Set up, verify & troubleshoot tools, machines & processes; track critical asset downtime, conduct RCA & implement countermeasures to improve OEE
- Support a critical spare parts program & lead facility reliability KPI improvement initiatives, including autonomous maintenance & preventive maintenance standardization
- Serve as the single point of accountability for capital projects, from AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) generation through asset release, including scope, cost & schedule inputs
- Support new product launches, equipment installations & major initiatives, ensuring successful qualification of new equipment (SAT/FAT) into production
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent hands‑on experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Toyota Production System, quality systems & lean concepts
- Ability to lead functional teams or projects of moderate complexity
- Experience with quality tools such as PFD, FMEA, Control Plan, Gauge R&R, statistical analysis & A3
