Travel RN - Psychiatric

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a night shift Psychiatric position in Northport, AL, requiring 2 years of experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Job Details

• Acute inpatient psychiatric unit (North Harbor) at a medical center in Northport, AL,

• Serves adult patients (ages 18+) and geriatric patients requiring 24-hour acute inpatient psychiatric treatment and care,

• Geriatric program focuses on short-term acute care with close monitoring by a multidisciplinary team,

• Patients are seen daily by a psychiatrist and other mental health professionals,

• Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM,

• 36 or 48 hours per week,

• Every other weekend required,

• Holiday coverage required,

• Floating to other units and hospitals is required,

• EMR:
Meditech (experience preferred but not required),

Job Requirements

• Active AL state or compact RN license required - no pending or temporary licenses accepted,

• No hits (past or current) on RN license permitted,

• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required,

• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross),

• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification required,

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; candidates with 18 months may be considered if working at the highest level of professional licensure,

• At least 1 year of recent experience in psychiatric nursing required,

• Current driver's license required for consideration,

• Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration,

• NURSYS license verification required for consideration,

• Multidisciplinary team approach with a strong focus on both physical and emotional health outcomes,

• No Health Stream modules required prior to start - competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation,
