American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring an AL or compact RN license and prior telemetry experience.

• Multi-specialty unit primarily focused on Med/Surg Tele care
• PCU is the only 24/7 acute care unit on campus, accommodating up to 36 patients
• Medical patients include dialysis and telemetry monitoring along with other acute medical needs
• Surgical population includes orthopedic procedures (fractures, shoulders, backs) and general surgery (appendectomy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, colon resection)
• Nurse/patient ratio of 1:6, supported by a Team Leader out of staffing
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals
• Uses Meditech EMR

• Active RN license, State of Alabama or Compact (no temporary licenses accepted)
• Current AHA BLS certification or Red Cross equivalent
• Associate degree in nursing required
• 2 years of RN experience required; will consider 18 months with 1 year of recent experience in specialty
• No prior license actions, past or current, allowed
• NURSYS license verification required

• Provide patient-centered care with a strong focus on pain management, mobility, and prevention of complications
• Work within a collaborative nursing and ancillary staff team dedicated to optimal patient outcomes
• Dress code requires solid navy scrubs
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mile radius restrictions
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
