American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of experience and an AL or compact RN license.

• Multi-specialty unit primarily focused on medical/surgical telemetry care
• 24/7 acute care unit accommodating up to 36 patients
• Medical patients include dialysis and telemetry monitoring along with other acute medical needs
• Surgical patient populations include orthopedic procedures (fractures, shoulders, backs) and general surgery (appendectomy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, colon resection)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, supported by a Team Leader out of staffing
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 36 hours per week with every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals

• Active RN license (State of Alabama or Compact) required, no temporary or pending licenses accepted
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• 2 years of RN experience required; will consider 18 months of experience with 1 year of recent experience in specialty
• NURSYS verification required
• No history of license actions, past or current

• Provide patient-centered care supporting recovery with a strong focus on pain management, mobility, and prevention of complications
• Join a dedicated team of nursing and ancillary staff fostering a culture of teamwork and family
• Local candidates accepted at the same rates with no mile radius restrictions
• On-site cardiac/telemetry testing required in addition to online pre-test
• Virtual orientation includes competency-based modules
