SummaryPerform scheduling, planning and purchasing tasks in support of plant activity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Schedule company wide production requirements for stamping, welding, and assembly areas
- Schedule all outside processing as required by the part routing
- Schedule company shipping activities for company trucks
- Develop and maintain successful relationships with vendors
- Coordinate truck driving route between all outside processes
- Supervise truck driving personnel
- Purchase production materials as required by forecast, maintaining quality and delivery standards while minimizing cost
- Monitor supplier quality for incoming product; reject material and charge back suppliers when and where appropriate with quality manager review
- Maintain production/service inventory counts / turns and manage physical inventory on a monthly basis to support month-end financial activities
- Back-up for Production Supervisor to provide schedule priority and direction to production teams
- Supervise Production Support Coordinator
- Back-up manage Maintimizer perishable/tool stock levels and production data entry as needed for Production Support Coordinator
- Track raw material costs; manage plant scrap sales
- Perform layered audits
High School diploma or GED; 3 to 5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education an experience. Knowledge of scheduling and purchasing function in a manufacturing environment, specifically metal stamping. Knowledge of and use of MRP systems.
