Norton Correctional Facility is state owned and operated prison under the Kansas Department of Corrections. Norton Correctional Facility is a prison comprised of minimum, low, and medium incarcerated residents. Norton Correctional Facility is split into two different physical locations, Norton, KS housing Central Unit and Stockton, KS housing East Unit. Position Summary & Responsibilities
This role supports Staff Development by maintaining training records, ensuring data quality, and coordinating classroom operations. Responsibilities include tracking mandatory training, updating lesson plans, preparing instructional materials, and compiling statistical reports for leadership review. The position also manages reception tasks, assists staff with LMS and time-reporting systems, and coordinates graduation events.
Additional duties include operating standard office equipment, entering statewide training data, conducting weekly building inspections, managing supply inventories, and submitting maintenance work orders. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support both administrative and training functions are essential.
Minimum Qualifications:
Two years of experience in general office, clerical and administrative support work. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:
Must have a Valid High School Diploma or Equivalent. Must have a Valid Driver's License. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position. Must take and pass drug screen, background check, and Tuberculosis (TB) test. Must be a current United States Citizen.
