Position Overview
Wheaton is a leading private, coeducational, liberal arts college of 1800 students located in Norton, MA and within easy commuting distance of Boston and Providence.
Job Summary / Basic FunctionWheaton College, an NCAA Division III institution located in Norton, Massachusetts, is looking for a motivated, energetic, passionate and caring individual to assist our women’s basketball program. The Assistant Coach helps prepare the team for a full intercollegiate varsity season, including in-season practices, scouting of opponents and game preparation. Also, this person will play an active role in identifying, evaluating, and recruiting qualified prospective student‑athletes.
A commitment to teaching and working within an environment that embraces the holistic development of the student‑athlete is essential. Additionally, this person will serve in an administrative capacity as directed by the Athletic Administration.
- Individuals must possess the skills and abilities or be able to teach and demonstrate all aspects of the sport they are coaching.
- The candidate must be able to work independently and have the ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Individuals must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Bachelor’s Degree required and 1-3 years of collegiate playing and/or coaching experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Master’s degree.
- 1-3 years of collegiate coaching experience.

All salary offers must have the prior approval of the Office of Human Resources.
The anticipated hiring or recruitment range for this position is $30,000. The salary for this position will be commensurate with the qualifications, education and experience of the candidate hired.
