As the Supply Chain Planner
, you are responsible for the strategic planning of manufacturing and distribution for the Optical Monomers business. The management team will task you with taking the demand plan and developing the supply plans using capacity modeling while you ensure the lowest cost of ownership model for the business. You will be a liaison and communication point between Plants, Sales, Transportation, Tollers and Warehousing, keeping all parties informed of potential problems impacting the business.
You will report to the Supply Chain Manager and will be based onsite either in Monroeville, PA or Barberton, OH - Norton Plant. PPG offers a Flexible Friday model designed to accelerate collaboration and career development. Teams work together on site Monday through Thursday, with the opportunity to work remotely on Fridays.
Responsibilities- Lead monthly Supply & SIOP Reviews with partners (Commercial, Technical, and Plant teams)
- Improve plant/business performance KPIs such as Capacity Utilization, Inventory Days/Dollars, OTIF, and Aged
- Maintain capacity plans, production schedules (work with Plant & Local Planning), and finite schedules to ensure the efficient delivery of inventory, service, and cost objectives
- Oversee inventory and supply planning along with coordination responsibilities for assigned plants, processes or warehouses within the Optical Monomers business
- Inventory Management – provide input on Old Age material to determine action required to initiate salvage or disposal of product
- Identify ways to improve supply planning processes and tools for assigned areas
- Provide supply planning expertise to the commercialization of new products or resolution of key inventory shortage issues
- Bachelor's Degree required;
Supply Chain or in Operations/Supply Planning field preferred - At least 5 years of experience in a planning environment
- Previous experience in a Supply Planning or Supply Chain Management environment is desired
- APICS certification as a CPIM is beneficial
- SAP experience a plus
- Must be proficient in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and other desktop applications for modeling.
