SummaryResponsible for partnering with plant management to improve financial performance through accounting, reporting, analysis, and financial planning activities. Supports monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, inventory accounting, and cost accounting processes while maintaining standard costing systems and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Utilizes SAP (FI/CO), HFM, and ERP/GL systems to deliver reliable financial information, support business decisions, and help achieve company financial objectives.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities Product and Process Costing (2 sites)- Responsible for the cost accounting module in SAP. This includes staging materials (new part setup/updates) and working with cross functional teams to ensure accurate material inventory records and financial valuations.
- Develop and maintain a cost analysis system using standard costing, reporting variances monthly.
- Calculate overhead rates, labor rates, and machine rates to cost at a product level.
- Support product profitability reporting with plant costing information and advisement.
- Support monthly close accounting (SAP) and reporting (HFM) processes, WD1 through WD3.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
- Monitor and report selected variance accounts, determine root cause, and collaborate with Plant Management to take corrective actions.
- Analyze plant financial results and explain production, labor, material, and overhead variances compared to budget and forecast.
- Provide support to ensure the accuracy of cost center allocations.
- Validate and track savings initiatives and productivity projects.
- Support monthly forecast process (HFM).
- Support preparation of annual budgets (HFM) by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data, and recommending plans.
- Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends as needed.
- Perform BOM audits, ensuring the integrity of all product costing.
- Prepare reports for material usage.
- Report and monitor inventory monthly.
- Prepare inventory reserve analysis and book adjusting entries.
- Produce stock reports by site monthly.
- Reconcile intercompany material purchase accounts.
- Participate in annual physical inventory counts and test cycle count processes.
- Conduct GR/IR (Goods Receipt Invoice Received) account research and validation.
- Process vendor invoices daily in VIM (Vendor Invoice Management System), following up with management teams to ensure receipt verification and/or price validity checks are completed.
- Resolve and prevent issues related to incorrect receiving, incorrect purchase orders/requisitions, and incorrect invoices by contacting plants and vendors.
- Facilitate weekly customer chargeback follow-up and OEM dispute reporting.
- Prepare SAP sales orders (SSOs) to correspond with customer chargeback deductions in coordination with Logistics and Quality teams on resolution.
- Comply with Federal, State, and Local legal and statutory requirements.
- Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
- Facilitate cross-functional change management projects as required.

- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent from an accredited college or technical school preferred.
- Three or more years of financial planning experience.
- Three or more years of standard cost accounting experience.
- Three or more years of management reporting experience.
- Experience in manufacturing environments.
- Experience with enterprise financial reporting systems (HFM, etc.).
- Experience with enterprise general ledger and ERP systems (SAP, etc.).
- Experience with SAP implementation of the CO module.
- Ability to understand and work with foreign exchange (FX) conversions.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, business correspondence, policies, procedures, and technical documents.
