Winston Preparatory School CT is searching for excellent candidates for a full-time Administrative Assistant position with a focus on Admissions support. This position is for immediate hire. Below is some background information regarding our school and the available position.
About Winston Preparatory SchoolWinston Preparatory School is a co-ed private day school for 3-12th-grade students with learning differences, including dyslexia, NVLD, expressive or receptive language disorders, and executive functioning difficulties (ADHD).

The ideal candidate will be flexible with a growth mindset, detail-oriented, proactive, highly organized, a problem solver, and able to work collaboratively. Sound writing ability and excellent interpersonal skills are required to communicate effectively with leadership, faculty, students, and families. A solid administrative background and strong proficiency in Google Workspace is required.
Responsibilities may include:
- Greet & welcome visitors to the school
- Answer phones and front door intercom
- Communicate with security personnel as needed and manage student dismissal and arrival
- Oversee student lunchtime check out/in for students who go off campus
- Support the Admissions Team by organizing and processing applications for prospective students
- Coordinate setup and prepare for monthly Admissions events
- Maintain accurate data across multiple spreadsheets
- Manage office inventory and place orders as needed
- Receive and distribute mail and deliveries
- Compose, type, and edit letters and memos from verbal instructions
- Proof information as needed
- Support special projects as assigned
- Provide general office assistance as needed
- Two years of administrative experience required
- Proficiency in computers and office technology (Google Workspace; organization-specific portals & databases)
- Careful attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Clear and professional communication, both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize tasks, plan ahead, and meet deadlines
- Collaborative team player with a proactive approach
- Consistent and efficient follow-through on daily responsibilities
