Summary

Support the Director and department with administrative and clerical functions to promote efficient and effective operations. Coordinate patient activities such as scheduling appointments, filing documents, answering phone calls, and responding to inquiries.

Responsibilities
  • Answers phone calls and responds to basic questions.
  • Provides administrative support by disseminating information to the department.
  • Prepares patient chart prior to appointment and obtains pertinent documents.
  • Schedules patient appointments for genetics, nutrition, and nurse navigators.
  • Organizes chart, identifies and files relevant documents.
  • Mails pre‑appointment documents and consult notes.
  • Scans documents to ordering providers and insurance companies as needed.
  • Logs phone calls and documents in Excel.
  • Orders Cancer Center supportive services patient resources and educational materials.
  • Follows hospital policies and procedures.
  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills, Experience

High school graduate. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Works on multiple projects. Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills. Requires 3+ years of experience providing administrative support. Associate’s degree preferred.

Other Information

Salary Range: $19.54 – $37.94 hourly
