Title: Asbestos Supervisor
Location: Norwalk, CT
FLSA Classification: Full-Time, Exempt
Servpro of Stamford seeks a self‑motivated individual to serve as the Asbestos Supervisor. The successful candidate will oversee abatement and demolition projects, ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state and federal regulations, and maintain a strong safety culture.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Project Planning and Coordination- Collaborate with Asbestos Project Manager to understand project requirements, objectives, and timelines.
- Develop project plans, including daily/weekly work tasks, resource allocation, and equipment needs.
- Coordinate and supervise the execution of abatement and demolition activities.
- Monitor project plans and specifications.
- Supervise and provide guidance to a team of abatement and demolition workers.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback and coaching to ensure high‑quality work.
- Train team members on proper abatement and demolition techniques, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
- Enforce and promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, daily/weekly toolbox talks, and training sessions to address safety concerns and promote awareness.
- Identify potential safety hazards and implement preventive measures to minimize risks.
- Ensure the use of appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) by all team members.
- Ensure that all abatement and demolition work is performed in accordance with applicable regulations, codes, and standards.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks to verify the quality and accuracy of work.
- Secure, process and properly segregate waste and assure proper classification.
- Maintain written communication with customers, COO, Office Coordinators, and other team members to address project‑related issues and concerns via email and phone.
- Provide daily regular project updates and maintain good relationships with clients.
- Address client inquiries and resolve any complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including records of work performed, daily logs, incident reports and inspections.
- Send daily jobsite and equipment photographs at the start and end of the workday.
- Prepare daily/weekly project plans and send them to the COO and Project Manager.
- Manage sub‑contractor invoices for jobs.
- Educate customers on process.
- Other ad‑hoc duties assigned and requested by management.
- Daily WIP (Work in Progress) Meeting Attendance is required.
- Company Monthly Team Meeting Attendance is required.
- CT Licensed Asbestos Supervisor is required.
- Valid Driver’s License is required.
- 5 years of experience in various aspects of abatement projects is required.
- 3+ years of experience in restoration and/or construction is preferred.
- 3+ years of project management experience is required.
- OSHA Certification is preferred.
- Experience on residential and commercial projects.
- Sense of ownership of each project and sense of urgency to complete them.
- Detail oriented, able to work within a budget, and know what quality work looks like.
- Prior asbestos or construction supervision experience is necessary.
- Ability to bend, stand, lift at least 30–50 pounds.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant Franchise Specific Software.
- Previous restoration, cleaning, and insurance industry experience preferred.
- Franchise Specific Software:
Xactimate, Xact Analysis, and others. - Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to adapt and pivot under demanding conditions, with the capacity to manage numerous projects at once.
- Patience and listening skills to respond appropriately and interact positively with customers.
- Bilingual – English/Spanish, a plus.
