Shift Information

Per diem – varying shifts from 6:30 am to 8:00 pm. Including weekends & holidays as needed.

Summary

The primary function of the Guest Services Representative is to greet and monitor all visitors to Norwalk Hospital. The Guest Services Rep provides patient room and phone numbers to callers and visitors using a computerized visitor badging system, adheres to all hospital policies including patient confidentiality, and helps to direct patient/visitors to their proper destination. The Representative should process visitors in an efficient, courteous and friendly manner to achieve patient and visitor satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Information Desk Badge Processing:
    Monitors visiting hours and distributes computerized passes in accordance with hospital visitor policy. Navigates various computer programs to troubleshoot technical issues and processes visitors and distributes badges in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Department and Hospital Policies:
    Adheres to all visitor restrictions and patient confidentiality policies.
  • Customer Service:
    Demonstrates a courteous and friendly manner when assisting visitors and the general public. Assists visitors with valet inquiries in the absence of the parking ambassador and coordinates with appropriate departments for after‑hour and weekend‑time sensitive package reception.
  • Emergency Communications:
    Identifies and communicates emergencies that occur in the lobby area accurately.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
  • Education, Skills and Experience

    Required:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English.
    • Ability to deal with visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office and email.
    • Data entry required.
    • Minimum experience:

      1 year.

    Desired:

    • Prior experience in customer service–oriented positions.
    • Ability to communicate in Spanish and/or Portuguese a plus.

    Salary Range: $17.00 – $20.00 hourly
