The JROTC Instructor is a comprehensive high school position. The instructor, a commissioned officer employed by the school, teaches JROTC cadets, organizes and chaperones field trips, ceremonies, and other activities. The instructor collaborates with faculty and support staff of Brien McMahon High School.

• Retired military officer with a bachelor’s degree, or certified by the military to serve in the JROTC program, or eligible for certification. Eligibility for the Connecticut State Department of Education teaching certification is a plus—some experience as an instructor.
• Proven ability to interact with adolescents and to work cooperatively with other high school staff.
• Ability to teach and motivate students.
• The JROTC is a commissioned officer.

• Previous teaching experience.
• Fluency in Spanish is an asset.
