The Assistant to the Dean provides the administrative and academic support services needed to contribute to the effective management of the College’s academic and certificate programs.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Dean or other administrator, the Assistant to the Dean is accountable for providing administrative services in support of the College’s academic programs through effective performance in these functional areas:
- Faculty administration
- Course administration
- Business administration
Additional responsibilities include:
- Attendance and participation at convocation and commencement ceremonies
- Service on assigned committees and task forces
- Attendance and participation at committee, staff, informational and professional meetings which may occur during evenings and weekends.
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriately related field together with two (2) or more years of related experience; or a combination of education, training and experience which would lead to the competencies required for successful performance of the position’s essential duties.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Higher education administration
- Budget and fiscal management
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Experience utilizing Enrollment Management System (EMS), Native Banner, and Course Leaf (CLSS).
- Salary $70,338 approximate annual
