Step into a rewarding contract opportunity shaping young minds for the upcoming school year! Two immediate full-time positions are now available for dedicated special education professionals, supporting middle school learners through individualized and small-group instruction. You'll become a valued part of an inclusive school community, serving students in integrated and resource settings, Monday through Friday, 35 to 37.5 hours each week.

Key

Qualifications:
  • Current Connecticut special education certification, or eligibility for state certification required
  • Experience with middle school curriculum, particularly in reading and math intervention preferred
  • Familiarity with evidence-based reading programs (SPIRE, WILSON, Orton-Gillingham) highly desirable for the ELA/math role
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Compassionate, responsive, and committed to helping diverse learners reach their potential
Primary Responsibilities:
  • For 6th Grade ELA/Math:
    Deliver specialized reading and math instruction for small groups, implement intervention strategies, and monitor student progress
  • For Academic Assistance (Grades 6-8):
    Support the development of executive functioning, reinforce classroom concepts, and provide academic coaching in a resource-style environment
  • Develop and maintain IEPs, document progress, and tailor instruction to student needs
  • Collaborate with classroom educators, families, and support staff to foster an inclusive, supportive atmosphere
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school initiatives throughout the academic year
