PTR
- Precision Technologies is a worldwide leader in the manufacture of electron beam welding equipment and advanced weld process development services. PTR has been manufacturing EB equipment in Connecticut for over 60 years and providing contract welding services using the latest in machine technology for over 35 years.

A full time position working under the direction of the Quality Manager, you will perform a wide variety of duties associated with the administration of our Nadcap AC7004 Quality System and supporting Quality related functions. These activities are in support of the overall EB Welding Job shop business plan.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintain all aspects of the Quality Management System
  • Perform internal, customer and industry quality and process audits
  • Review Customer and Industry Specifications to ensure requirements are met
  • Work with Applications Engineering Group to complete all customer specific qualification packages
  • Ensure all required Inspection and Testing is performed
  • Manage and approve active vendor list
  • Initiate all corrective action meetings and work with PTR Staff to determine root cause
  • Initiate RMA meetings to develop and communicate rework process
  • Log all internal nonconforming material. Review quality objectives and implement improvements
  • Monitor and ensure all customer required testing is performed
  • Monitor and maintain calibration of all Job shop precision gages, tools, equipment, surface plates, etc
  • Make changes and approve technical data as required
  • Perform internal and customer audits
  • Work with other departments to resolve inspection issues
  • Assist with visual inspection efforts as required
  • Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES:
  • In depth knowledge of NADCAP / FAA / AS9100 or similar Quality Management Systems
  • Experience working in a fast-paced Job shop environment
  • Must be able to look through a microscope
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple programs
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and interpret various specifications
  • Interface with all departments in an effective and professional manner
  • Assist and resolve the production floor with quality issues
  • Lead quality meetings and training efforts
  • Able to work with customer Quality and Engineering personnel to resolve issues
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High attention to detail
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Degree in quality, mechanical or manufacturing engineering preferred
  • 5-10 years’ experience with Nadcap or AS9100 type Quality Management Systems
  • Computer skills, with proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, Vizio, and Excel required
  • ERP System experience
  • Experience using a microscope
  • Knowledge of welding and alloys a plus

  • Able to lift 40 lbs
