Job Description & How to Apply Below

About the Role:

As a CBRE Sr. FM Engineering Operations Manager, you will oversee engineering support across the Atlantic region, covering approximately 1,000 retail bank branches. This role requires 25–50% travel to ensure consistent operational performance and technical execution across the portfolio.

You will serve as a key Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing technical guidance and operational support to account teams, including maintenance and engineering staff. While this role does not have direct reports, it plays a critical leadership function through influence, partnership, and expertise.

This position is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function and is responsible for supporting preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting, and repair of building systems and equipment. You will ensure best practices are implemented, drive consistency across sites, and support overall operational excellence.

What You’ll Do:
  • Serve as the Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Eastern region portfolio, supporting approximately 1,000 branches.
  • Provide technical guidance and operational support to maintenance and engineering teams across the account; influence performance without direct supervisory responsibility.
  • Partner with account leadership, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure consistent execution of engineering standards and client expectations.
  • Travel 25–50% to sites to assess operations, support issue resolution, and drive consistency in maintenance and engineering practices.
  • Review operational data, maintenance activities, and system performance to identify trends and recommend improvements to processes, procedures, and asset reliability.
  • Support preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting efforts, and repair strategies for building systems and critical equipment.
  • Promote adoption of industry best practices, continuous improvement initiatives, and standardization across the portfolio.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, safety standards, and client policies.
  • Apply a broad understanding of engineering operations and how they integrate with facilities management to achieve account objectives.
  • Lead through influence by modeling CBRE RISE values and fostering collaboration across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Identify and resolve complex technical and operational issues, considering impacts across the broader portfolio.
  • Drive enhancements to existing processes, standards, and workflows to improve service delivery and operational efficiency
What You’ll Need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 5–8 years of relevant engineering or facilities experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Strong MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) background required, including at least 5 years of hands‑on experience with commercial HVAC systems.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting field teams through coaching, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and performance improvement initiatives (without direct supervisory responsibility).
  • Proven ability to communicate and influence across stakeholders, including leading discussions involving complex, sensitive, or technical information and resolving issues effectively.
  • Strong collaboration and leadership‑through‑influence skills, with the ability to drive alignment and achieve operational goals across multiple teams and disciplines.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking capabilities, and a proactive, inquisitive mindset.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
